Kim Kardashian has let the cat out of the bag after posting a photo of what appears to be her husband Kanye West's tracklist for his forthcoming album. Appearing with the title 'Jesus Is King', the photo of the tracklist - which is placed next to a bible - also shows a release date of September 27 at the bottom.
This potential LP or project will follow the release of Kanye West's eighth studio album 'Ye' which dropped back in June of 2018. No official announcement about an album release has been made.
The Christian elements that appear in both the title and photo of this supposed album announcement fit with the theme of West's year musically. The superstar's focus for most of 2019 has been centered around his choir and gospel performances called "Sunday Service" which he has toured around the country. He brought the service to Coachella and to Ohio to memorialize the victims of the recent mass shooting in Dayton. [MORE] |

Thanks to an influx of glass-and-steel McCondos and the unrelenting rise of rent prices, few beacons of Old New York have managed to remain in this city. And even if they have, it seems their days are numbered.
The latest icon forced to shutter is cinephile favorite, The Paris Theater. Tucked on a Midtown side street between Bergdorf's and The Plaza, the last single-screen cinema has been a glamorous go-to for movie premieres and artsy film aficionados for the past 71 years. When it opened back in 1948, Marlene Dietrich had the honor of cutting the ribbon.
With 581 seats, and a balcony beloved by A-listers, The Paris boasted that certain type of accessible glamour that could only be found in such niche New York landmarks. An Upper East Side Grande Dame was just as comfortable here as a Lower East Side film student, or, indeed, a Hollywood starlet. Carrie Bradshaw herself once said of the place, "The most amazing thing about living in a city like New York, is that any night of the week you can go to Paris." [MORE] |

The last days of summer are upon us, which means that beach season in New York City is officially winding down. The city's public beaches will close on September 8, so you have just a couple more weeks to make a beeline for Coney Island or the Rockaways (and you can hop on the NYC Ferry for a pleasant, if crowded, ride to the latter).
Don't feel like dealing with the crowds? Head to Staten Island to check out some of NYC's more off-the-beaten path beaches. And if going for a swim isn't your thing, don't fret—most beaches come with plenty of other outdoor activities. [MORE] |

Close out the season of all-watermelon-everything with an Instagrammable two-for-one.
To celebrate Labor Day Weekend, cult-favorite K-beauty brand Glow Recipe has teamed up with the frozen pop geniuses over at Popbar to offer skincare obsessives a seriously sweet treat. From August 30th to September 2nd, stop by Popbar's New York location at 5 Carmine Street for a limited edition Watermelon Wedge. The adorable dessert features watermelon gelato dipped in white chocolate, topped with green sprinkles and chocolate "seeds." It's definitely the perfect prop for a "last days of summer" OOTD.
But that's not even the best part.
Each purchase comes with a sample of Glow Recipe's coveted Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask. The little pink jar of skin-soothing, radiance-boosting magic, formulated with watermelon, hyaluronic acid, and AHAs, has a notoriously long wait list, and pretty much sells out at Sephora immediately, so this is kind of a big deal.

For Black Coffee – DJ, producer and guiding light of the movement to broadcast the potential of South Africa’s future club stars – Africa Is Not A Jungle is much more than just the bespoke, self-curated clubbing brand he drops into festivals in SA, and hopes to introduce to the world. It’s a motto to live by, a reminder that stereotypes about, and ignorance of, his home nation could obscure a glittering array of creative talent.
“Africa is Not A Jungle is a platform for African producers and DJs, and I hope it goes beyond the continent,” says Black Coffee – real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, or Nathi for short. He’s speaking to Mixmag in the kind of situation which perfectly demonstrates the level of stardom he’s attained. Currently living in Barcelona, but on the White Isle over the summer for his successful Saturday night residency at Hï Ibiza, he’s being chauffeured while we speak from our photoshoot to the airport for a gig in Italy that evening alongside his countryman, Themba. East London club XOYO has announced it will stop booking headline acts for Saturday series Pleasurehood.
Long-time XOYO resident Joshua James will be taking to the DJ booth each Saturday, with Coco Cole, Luke Solomun, Eliza Rose and Hifi Sean also joining on rotation. Dancer Lucy Fizz will also be fronting the dance troupe each week.
The decision means that advanced ticket prices will be pushed down to £5.
XOYO said: “At a time in London when ticket prices are becoming extortionate, with stacked line-ups of international DJs playing to thousands of people; we want to shift our focus back to the party, where the dancefloor comes first.” [MORE] |

Nintendo’s next mobile game, Mario Kart Tour, will be available on iOS and Android devices starting on September 25. The official Twitter account for the game revealed the launch date, and shared the pre-registration link where users of both platforms can sign up to get the game when it launches.
The mobile installment of Nintendo’s incredibly popular cart-racing franchise was originally announced last year, and at that time had a planned launch window of sometime before the end of March 2019. Nintendo later updated that date to sometime during this summer in order to “improve [the] quality of the application and expand the content offerings after launch,” according to a statement in one of the game-maker’s earnings reports. Looking to add a bit of adventure to your next date night? Nothing beats a scavenger hunt, especially when the prize is a five-course French meal.
The brainchild of Brazilian-born, French-taught chef Franco Sampogna and co-owner Bernardo Silva, Frevo is a dim, intimate eatery where most of the 24 seats line a quartzite chef's counter in full view of all the culinary action. That concept alone is enticing for plenty of New York foodies, but there's an extra layer of exclusivity that makes it a must: the swanky space is hidden behind a door-sized painting in what seems like your typical Greenwich Village art gallery. As part of her new album, Lover, Taylor Swift released a song titled “Cornelia Street,” where she mentions the Greenwich Village place where she briefly lived. She says, “I rent a place on Cornelia Street,” likely referring to the 23 Cornelia Street townhouse she once rented—which was sold earlier this year for $11.5 million, according to city records.
Swift rented the three-story townhouse briefly back in 2016 for around $39,500/month, while her Tribeca penthouse was being renovated. She owns several Tribeca properties, both at 153 and 155 Franklin Street.
While Taylor Swift keeps the interiors of her Tribeca digs pretty private—though you can see the occasional glance on Instagram—there’s plenty of visuals of the the Cornelia Street townhouse owing to its recent listing. Curious about what it looks like? Read on. [MORE] |

I’m standing in a club. Jane Fitz is dropping bomb after utterly perfect bomb, every record hurtling the room closer to the sort of transcendental moment of ecstatic communal release that you only envisage as being an actual possible thing that can happen when you’re surrounded by people on ecstasy. While on ecstasy.
I’m thinking about Alan Bennett.
I’m thinking about Alan Bennett and buttery toast and orange juice and Sunday Brunch and barrelling into the nearest Greggs knowing full well I’ll be stumbling out with a triple chocolate doughnut and a steak and cheese roll clutched to my chest. I’m thinking about the Corrie omnibus and freshly laundered pyjama bottoms. [MORE] |

“The Red Sea Diving Resort,” a new film on Netflix, is based on the true story of Mossad agents who took over an abandoned holiday resort in Sudan to smuggle Jewish Ethiopian refugees out of the country.
As we explain in the latest episode of the Original Content podcast, the film feels like it’s made in the “Argo” mold, fashioning a political thriller out of a too-crazy-for-fiction events. But it’s not as well-made as “Argo,” while struggling with the same challenges — mixing serious and comedic tones, and balancing real-world politics with blockbuster thrills.
The balance feels particularly awkward with “Captain America” actor Chris Evans playing the Mossad agent leading the operation. He’s not bad in the role, but there’s not much substance or complexity to it, and his presence underlines the feeling that we’re watching a Hollywood fantasy. [MORE] |
